MANGO in any form is a delicacy. The preparation of this pickle is quite different from any other Mango Pickle. It is prepared with dried mango pieces, marinated in salt and turmeric powder first and sun dried for a day or two then mixed with spices namely chilli powder & fenugreek powder. After seasoning it with hing (Asafoetida) mustard and red chillies you get a flavorful & fiery aroma. This is a sun dried pickle symbolizing the importance of the sunlight and heat. MAAGAYA is again a favorite after Avakaya. Maagaya is a classic Andhra pickle that can be called the ‘twin’ of Avakaya. The taste & texture of this pickle when mixed with hot rice and ghee is just amazing. It can also be used as a RICE PASTE that tastes yummy! Magaya is a great addition for traditional dishes like idli, dosa, curd rice and dal. Magaya also add a dash of punch and pairs well with a whole host of dishes.Magaya adds a little zing to your taste buds and makes even the blandest dishes appetizing.
